FASHION SHOW BENEFITS THE HEARTBRIGHT FOUNDATION

A Champagne Brunch and fashion show introducing Coplon's Ladies Fine Clothing spring collection was held at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse Friday, March 30, at Ruth's Chris South Park location. Fashion show committee chairman Kristen Little and co-chairs Kim Keady and Candace Holiday greeted 110 guests at this inaugural event. The event raised over 15, 000 to benefit the HeartBright Foundation.

Local celebrities wore fabulous designs by Akris, Armani, Oscar De La Renta, Jill Sander and Carmen Marc Valvo. Mayor Pro-Tem Susan Burgess, NBC 6 News Anchor Sonja Gantt, Chief Meteorologist Terri Bennett, and Anchor/Reporter Ann Sheridan were joined on the runway by Nada Brezec, Lynn Griffiths, and Stephanie Insko. Dr. Elizabeth Perry, Dr. Traci Lamonthe, Cathy Rabb with Presbyterian Cardiovascular Institute, Terrie Reeves, President of the Wellness Coalition, Jan Wagoner Director of the Presbyterian Center for Preventive Cardiology and Nicole Martin also of PCPC were among the models presenting the stunning fashions. David's Ltd. provided jewelry to accessorize Coplon's spring collection.

Escorting the models were Tom Blocker and Chris Little from Hendrick Automotive Group, Tom Hughes, Hearst Corporation (retired) and C. J. Williams of LifeStar Fitness. Ashli Wilson, was the emcee for the event.

Guests enjoyed Gosset Brut Excellence Champagne NV and a lovely brunch featuring broiled Atlantic salmon served over baby mixed greens with a lemon vinaigrette dressing. Fabulous door prizes included weekend get-aways, dazzling jewelry, gift certificates and bubbly beverages.

HeartBright fundraisers such as this Spring Fashion Show and their annual Wine Soiree in November allow the Foundation to move forward to achieve its goals to increase awareness about cardiovascular health and related diseases as well as to provide health care for the underserved in our community. The HeartBright Foundation is a 501©3 charity headquartered in Charlotte and founded by Claire and Tom Blocker.
