Piedmont Heart Beat and Meeting Notice
April 97, 2005
This is the first copy of Chapter #289's News Letter and due to time restrictions, the monthly meeting notice is being incorporated. We had hoped that Doctor Hicklin would be able to speak at this meeting but due to a prior commitment he will be speaking at a later date. Good News!!! Jan Sinfield, RN, BSN, CCRN will be with us and we will learn of the very latest developments in cardio pulmonary resuscitation. This meeting will be in classroom 2 of the Piedmont Annex Building on Frank Gaston Blvd. at 6:30 p.m. on April 26, 2005. Remember this building is across the street from the Women's Tower and not in the hospital proper. You really need to attend this very important update on a very, life threatening, problem!!

Now for some news: New officers were elected at the March meeting. They are as follows: Debby King, President; Gerald Kemp, V. President and Visitation Ch.; Anita Branham, Secretary/Treasurer; Susan & Jack Thomas will handle the publicity and program planning. As past officers, they will also be members of the Mended Hearts Board. These officers will be installed at the May meeting so please mark the date, May 24th on your calendar for this special meeting.

Visitation Accreditation was held on March 22 with 6 members attending. We are sorry to report this program is again on hold due some more questions regarding the HIPPA program. If there is anyone else interested in this program, we will be happy to have another training session and you will also have to make arrangements to become a Piedmont Volunteer by contacting Kim Brock at 329-6828. This is such a rewarding program we will continue to work out the snags so that we can get it up and going ASAP.

Well hopefully, with all of your help, our next Newsletter will have many new and interesting features. WE DO NEED YOUR HELP!!! Contact Susan at 547-6858 with any item, recipe, interesting or exciting news regarding our members or their families, or jokes that you think this group would enjoy. To have a good newsletter it will take all of our input to bring it together.

ITS GREAT TO BE ALIVE -- TO HELP OTHERS
