Thomas A. Blocker Mr. Blocker received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from North Carolina State University in 1970. While in college, he worked as a motorcycle technician as well as pursuing amateur racing. After several years of managing a local dealership's service and parts operations, he joined American Honda Motor Company as a Service Training Instructor in 1974. In 1977, he transferred to Honda's Automobile Division as District Service Manager, was promoted to District Sales Manager, serving in several Southeastern districts. He was promoted to Assistant Zone Manager/Southeast, Atlanta, GA in 1984. In 1987, Mr. Blocker became Zone Manager with responsibility for all Honda automobile dealerships in the Southeast.
Mr. Blocker joined the Hendrick organization in 1989 as Director of Fixed Operations. His responsibilities included monitoring the performance of all dealership's parts, service and body shop departments and establishing guidelines/benchmarks. He guided dealership fixed operations to improved performance, optimization of facility usage and customer satisfaction performance. He was also involved in the recruiting and hiring of fixed operations managers.
Mr. Blocker was promoted to Vice President Retail Operations East in July 2000. He is responsible for the successful operation of the dealerships in the East Region.
Mr. Blocker was promoted to Senior Vice President, East Division Chief Operating Officer in November 2004.
Mr. Blocker has over 25 years experience in the automotive industry.
